Weather Warning for Plaquemines Parish

Flash Flood Risk Remains High

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Plaquemines Parish in southeastern Louisiana. The warning is in effect until 11:00 PM CDT tonight.

Heavy rain is expected to continue in the area, and flash flooding is possible. Residents are advised to be aware of the risk and to take precautions if necessary.

What to do if you encounter flooding

  • Turn around, don't drown. Never drive through flooded areas.
  • If you encounter flooding on foot, turn around and go back the way you came. Just six inches of moving water can knock you off your feet.
