Kimmich's Header Consigns Arsenal to Defeat
Arsenal's Champions League campaign ended in disappointment on Tuesday night as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.
Joshua Kimmich's first-half header proved to be the only goal of the game, as the German champions once again proved too strong for the Gunners.
The result means that Arsenal have now lost five consecutive away games against Bayern in the Champions League, and their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals are now over.
Arsenal started the game brightly and created a number of good chances in the opening stages. However, they were unable to find the back of the net, and Bayern gradually began to take control of the game.
The home side took the lead in the 34th minute when Kimmich headed home from a corner. Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale got a hand to the ball, but he was unable to keep it out.
Arsenal tried to find an equalizer in the second half, but they were unable to break down a resolute Bayern defense. The Gunners had a number of chances to score, but they were unable to find the finishing touch.
The defeat means that Arsenal have now lost three of their last four games in all competitions. They will be hoping to bounce back when they face Manchester City in the FA Cup on Saturday.
